Why Intensives?
Longer sessions, focused on specific goals, can create meaningful breakthroughs in less time.
Intensives are more than simply longer therapy sessions. They create a dedicated container for deeper, more focused transformation.
In weekly therapy, the natural start-and-stop of a 50- or 60-minute session can sometimes feel discouraging. You may open something tender and important, only to have the session end before there is enough time to fully explore or work through it. Then, by the following week, the momentum can be interrupted.
An intensive offers more time and space for the work to unfold naturally. Parts of you that may not have enough time to emerge in a traditional session can have the space they need to show up, be heard, and be understood.
Intensives can be especially helpful for:
● Major life transitions or periods of change
● Long-standing pain or unresolved experiences
● Patterns that feel stuck or difficult to shift
● People who want to focus deeply on a specific issue or goal
● Those whose schedules make weekly therapy difficult or inconsistent
● People who are ready for meaningful change and want to work deeply and intentionally
Rather than stretching the work across months of weekly sessions, an intensive can allow you to accomplish in a concentrated period of time what might otherwise take much longer.
There is also something inherently gentler about having more time. You don't have to rush toward a breakthrough or feel pressured to fit meaningful work into a single hour. There is room to slow down, pause, notice what is happening, and let the process unfold at a pace that feels safe.
IFS and Somatic Experiencing are both gentle, respectful approaches to healing. We don't force the process or push past what your system is ready for. Your parts determine the pace, and we follow their lead. With more time available, the work can be both deeper and more spacious—creating a gentler, more supported path toward healing.
